Hearing God’s Voice
Who Said That?
Hear His voice.
Call by name.
Leads us out.
HE goes before us.
JOHN 10:5 “And a stranger they simply will not follow, but will flee from him, because they do not know the voice of strangers.”
The more you grow in the Lord the less you hear His actual voice.
Then Why pursue this?
JOHN 6:63 “It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing; the words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life.
What is the flesh?
The natural mind and it’s desires for self satisfaction both sexual and nonsexual.
Sanctification holiness Heb 12: 10 For they disciplined us for a short time as seemed best to them, but He disciplines us for our good, that we may share His holiness.
Seek to be holy.
What is holiness?
Making a habit of lining up or living God’s word and will. Not just hearer but doer.
James 1:23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks at his natural (or fleshly) face in a mirror;
Want what God wants. Hate what He hates.
Is Holiness the same as righteousness?
No. Righteousness is given to us when we are saved. Holiness is a life long work or process done by the holy Spirit.
Philippians 1:6 For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.
The Lord is never going to lead you to:
· bankruptcy or divorce court
· ministry or business failure
· a bad consumer deal!
