ATTITUDE
Your attitude can seriously hinder your faith walk. You can spend years in a stagnant faith walk because you are moving horizontally through life instead of vertically in your relationship towards Jesus. With God everything is increase. If you aren’t seeing this in your life then a Spirit lead and honest examination of your attitude must be undertaken. Have no doubt that a bad attitude will most certainly effect your faith walk.
EPHESIANS 4:23 and that you be renewed in the spirit (attitude) of your mind,
PHILIPPIANS 2:5 Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus,
Jesus’ attitude is His Will and that is His Word.
Obey: get in line with the Word.
LAMENTATIONS 3:40 Let us examine and probe our ways, And let us return to the LORD.
How often?
1Corinthians 15:31 I protest, brethren, by the boasting in you, which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily.
Your attitude is the mirror of your heart.
Your belief follows your attitude.
Your speech follows your attitude.
PROVERBS 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.
MARK 11:23 Truly I say to you, Whoever says to this mountain, Be taken up and be put into the sea; and has no doubt in his heart, but has faith that what he says will come about, he will have his desire.
JOHN 14:12 Truly I say to you, He who puts his faith in me will do the very works which I do, and he will do greater things than these, because I am going to my Father
Your saying can nullify your praying.
JAMES 1:6-8
6 But let him ask in faith without any doubting, for the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.
7 For let not that man expect that he will receive anything from the Lord,
8 being a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.
2Corinthians 5:7 for we walk by faith, not by sight--
Once you think it and speak it, you are convicted of it, you will walk in it.
Circumcision of the heart changes this.
Godly heart surgery.
ROMANS 2:29 But he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is that which is of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the letter; and his praise is not from men, but from God.
No passive attitude.
Passivity is death to your faith walk.
How do we fix our attitude?
1. Circumcision of the heart.
A. The flesh and pride work hand in hand.
b. Much negative attitude is based in pride.
Stuff we don't want to deal with in ourselves or others.
2. Confess and repent. Admit to God that you can't do it any more. Surrender the situation to Him.
3. Faith confession equals possession.
No harvest without faith filled words (seed).
4. Determine to be different. Change your will.
5. Stop the fear.
